UCF-Industry Fellow Program Announcement
The Office of Research & Commercialization is pleased to announce a new program that encourages and recognizes university principal investigators who sustain industry-university research relationships by
bestowing on them the title of "UCF-Company Name Fellow." Faculty
researchers who secure research and development funding from an industry sponsor for a minimum of five years and $500,000 are eligible to carry this title.
To learn more about this new program and to complete an application, open the attached Word file or contact the proposal or contract representative for SEECS for assistance.
School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is organizing Industry Day on April 14 to showcase research of SEECS faculty and students... This daylong event will include keynote talk(s), presentations by selected faculty, poster session, sneak preview of graduating students, luncheon, awards, etc...
A group of 13 students participated in IEEE Region 3 conference named Southeastcon from April 3-6, 2008. Paul Nelson, an EE undergraduate student of Prof. Xun Gong, has been awarded the IEEE MTT-S Undergraduate
Scholarship. As a winner, the student gets $1500 in cash and $1000
travel fund to 2008 International Microwave Symposium in Atlanta, GA
(>10,000 attendees). His bio and research project summary will also be
published in IEEE Microwave Magazine. Currently he is working on his
B.S. thesis with Honor in Major, and he will continue as a graduate
student from this summer at UCF.
Greg Tener, a Ph.D. student of Prof. Narsingh Deo, has been awarded a fellowship for participating in 2008 Central Europe Summer Research Institute (CESRI) sponsored by the NSF. This all-expense-paid summer research program is intended to build institutional partnership between the scientific community in the U.S. and Central Europe. Under this Fellowship, Greg will be working on parallel algorithms for solving hard cases of the graph-isomorphism problem, with Prof. Ludek Kucera of Charles University in Prague.
IEEE Electron Devices Society, IEEE and AVS Student Chapters of UCF and UCF School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science welcome you to IEEE Electron Devices Colloquium to held
from Feb 21-22nd, 2008 in UCF at the Harris Corporation Engineering Center (HEC) Eng III, Room 101. This colloquium will provide an excellent opportunity for UCF graduate and undergraduate students to learn about the state of the art in micro/nanoelectronics, to interact and exchange ideas with the speakers, and to discuss research activities. Many areas of research shall be covered by experts in the field of Electrical Engineering, and the detailed program is enclosed. Refreshments will also be provided.
